Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton highlighted Alex Iwobi's key role in Fulham's second goal in their 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League fixture played at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Fulham took the lead in the 11th minute when Andreas Pereira's deflected shot beat Alisson Becker at the near post.

Liverpool's aim of getting the equalizer took a massive hit in the 17th minute. They were reduced to 10 men after Andrew Roberson was sent off for a last-man challenge.

The away side took the one-goal advantage to half-time but the Reds quickly restored parity at the start of the second half.

A perfect cross from Mohamed Salah found Cody Gakpo at the far post and the Dutch forward put the ball home.

Iwobi helped the away side restore their lead in the 76th minute.

The Super Eagles midfielder laid the ball off to Antonee Robinson, who squared it to Rodrigo Muniz, the goalscorer.

While on commentary duty with BBC Radio 5 Live, Sutton namechecked as he shared his thoughts on Fulham's second goal.

“There is that combination on the left-hand side, Iwobi and Robinson. They have caused problems all afternoon. It is a great finish from Muniz," Sutton remarked.

"Robinson just steams forward, the Iwobi pass is perfect and it's slightly scruffy but Muniz showed great innovation."

Four minutes before stoppage time, Liverpool drew level through Diogo Jota, who evaded Issa Diop before placing the ball in the top corner.

Iwobi lasted for the entire duration of the game. He has only failed to complete a game on five occasions in the Premier League this season and has featured in every Fulham game.
