As the Europa League group stage draws to a close, Lyon will take on Bundesliga side Frankfurt at the Groupama Stadium.
Lyon have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 of their first five games and are now tenth in the Europa League standings, while Frankfurt are third with 4 wins, 1 draw and remain unbeaten. Neither team appears to be in any danger of missing out on qualification, but this is sure to be an exciting encounter between two strong sides.
Lyon´s last game was on the road against Angers and the French Ligue 1 clash finished in a 3-0 win. OL boasted 64% possession and had ten shots on target, with Nicolas Tagliafico, Rayan Cherki and Georges Mikautadze scoring at Stade Raymond Kopa.
Eintracht Frankfurt had four shots on target and 60% possession when they drew 2-2 at home with Augsburg in their previous match. Hugo Ekitike and Can Uzun found the net for Eintracht in the German Bundesliga clash.
In the teams most recent Europa League encounters, Lyon beat Qarabag 4-1 away, while Eintracht won 2-1 on the road against Midtjylland.
Lyon will be without Antonou Lopez,the 34-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper has yet to play a single game for Lyon this season.Benrahma and Kumbedi will also miss the Lyon game due to injury.
Frankfurt will be without midfielders Hugo Larsson and Junior Dina Ebimbé for Thursday's Europa League match against Lyon. Larsson was only able to complete individual training due to a muscle problem, while Dina Ebimbé was ill and missed the final team training. Amanda will also be absent this round.
