Burnley vs Derby
Match preview
After being demoted from the Premier League last season, Burnley came into the 2024-25 campaign with the goal of securing immediate promotion back to the top flight of English football.
They started the season in fine form with a 4-1 win over fellow relegated side Luton Town and a 5-0 thrashing of Cardiff City, but their momentum was halted by a disappointing defeat to Sunderland.
Despite remaining unbeaten in their next nine league games, Scott Parker's side only managed four wins and five draws, with the high number of draws proving to be a problem at the start of the season, with no team inside the top seven managing more than their seven draws.
That was followed by a 1-0 defeat at Millwall, but they have bounced back with two draws and four wins from their last six games to enter this fixture in good form.
The results leave Burnley third in the Championship with 37 points from 19 games, with 10 wins, seven draws and just two defeats.
Parker, in charge since July 2024, will be hoping to get his side back to winning ways after a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough last time out, and Burnley will be confident having beaten Derby at Turf Moor in six of the last seven meetings.
As for Derby, they were promoted back to the Championship for the first time since their relegation in 2021-22 after finishing second in League One last year, alongside Portsmouth and Oxford United.
Looking to extend their stay in the second tier this season, Derby made a strong start to the campaign with three wins from their first five league games, losing the other two to Blackburn Rovers and Watford.
However, they have endured a difficult 15-game run since then, recording two wins, five draws and seven defeats, including three successive defeats going into this game.
Those results have left them 16th in the table with 20 points from 19 games, just three points above the relegation zone, a gap they will be looking to extend with a shock win on Tuesday.

Team News
It looks like Burnley could be without as many as six players through injury. Jordan Beyer, Lyle Foster, Manuel Benson, Mike Tresor and John Egan are all doubtful, but they're expected to return later this month.
Aaron Ramsey is still a doubt for the Clarets. It's thought he won't be back from his cruciate ligament injury until the New Year.
Josh Brownhill is Burnley's top scorer this season with six goals in 18 appearances, and he'll be back as captain for the next game.
Derby have just two injury concerns going into the game. It looks like Ryan Nyambe and Tawanda Chirewa won't be back in action until later this month.
Derby's Jerry Yates is their top league scorer with four goals in 16 games. He's scored three goals in his last five appearances, so he'll be a key player in this one.

Trafford; Roberts, Egan-Riley, Esteve, Humphreys; Cullen, Brownhill; Anthony, Sarmiento, Koleosho; Rodriguez
