Enzo Maresca thinks that as long as he's "fit, mentally and physically", Jadon Sancho will be crucial to Chelsea.
Sancho did well in Chelsea's win, even though he's only started five times this season. Maresca says the English winger is important.
The winger played a big part in the 2-0 win against Heidenheim, setting up both goals. That keeps their perfect start in the competition after four matches. This was just the fifth time he's started in all competitions since he joined the London side from Manchester United on loan.
Even though he hasn't played much, Maresca says the England international is a key figure for his side. He adds that players like Sancho "are going to get more chances" as they gear up for a busy December.
"I said since we start, Jadon is very important for us. He has to be fit, mentally and physically and he is going to help us a lot," Maresca said. "Unfortunately we did not use him in the last few games but he is showing tonight how important he is. We need that quality in the last third against a low block. He is going to help us a lot."
Sancho only got five minutes on the pitch against Leicester in Chelsea's last Premier League match, but he'll be hoping for a longer run-out when they meet Aston Villa this weekend.
