Real Madrid are already thinking ahead to next summer, and while the arrival of Kylian Mbappe made headlines last year, recent transfer windows have been relatively quiet. That's likely to change next year.
It looks like Los Blancos are planning to strengthen the full-back positions, add a central defender and look at a midfielder as well. One of those additions is set to be Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies, who looks as if he will join on a free at the end of his contract, following a lengthy pursuit.
That would probably leave Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia without a spot on the team, but Cadena SER says they're willing to sell both next summer. It's been reported that Miguel Gutierrez hasn't been given any indication that Real Madrid want to activate their €8m buyback clause. However, if they do try to move on both left-backs, they'll come in for the Girona star.
Mendy has just been given a new contract by Real Madrid, but he's been backed by manager Carlo Ancelotti. With the Italian's future also up in the air next season, it could spell the end of his time at the club too. Since he joined from Rayo Vallecano, Garcia has been inconsistent and hasn't yet been trusted in the big games.
