Alphonso Davies, the 24-year-old Canadian left-back, is rumoured to be on Real Madrid’s radar as their latest reinforcement. However, amidst the speculation, the Bayern Munich player’s agent has come forward to dismiss the claims, emphasising that no deal has been finalised.
Davies, often regarded as Canada’s top player, did not join his national team during the November FIFA window, surprising many. His absence allowed Sam Adekugbe of the Vancouver Whitecaps to step in as a replacement.
Will Alphonso Davies join Real Madrid?
Currently under contract with Bayern Munich until mid-2025, Davies’ future remains uncertain. As per transfer regulations, players entering the final six months of their contract can negotiate freely with other clubs if no extension is reached.
This situation has fuelled rumours linking him to several elite European clubs, with Real Madrid emerging as the most prominent suitor.
This season, Davies has featured in 15 matches for Bayern Munich under coach Vincent Kompany, contributing three assists from his left-sided position. On the international stage, he participated in three friendlies against the United States, Panama, and Mexico but was surprisingly omitted from Canada’s squad for the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals.
Nedal Huoseh, Davies’ agent, has categorically denied any agreement with the LaLiga side for the upcoming season. “Is it a done deal with Real Madrid? That’s not true,” he told the media, adding further intrigue to the player’s future. “While Alphonso has many options, no agreement has been reached with any club,” he clarified. “A new deal with FC Bayern could also be on the table. Any reports suggesting otherwise are inaccurate,” he concluded, leaving the future of the talented Canadian full-back open to speculation.
