Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is now Real Madrid's top priority in their search for a new right-back.
The England international has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants for some time and speculation over his future continues to intensify with his Liverpool contract expiring at the end of the season.
Liverpool hope to convince the 26-year-old to sign an extension, but they face intense competition as The Athletic reports that he is Madrid's top target. However, a move will only be possible if he lets his deal at Anfield run down.
Alexander-Arnold is not the only option on Madrid's list at the moment, however, as the report adds that Tottenham's Pedro Porro, Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong and Sevilla full-back Juanlu are also being considered.
The Spanish champions will be closely monitoring Alexander-Arnold's situation as the season wears on before he is free to start negotiating with other clubs as of January.
