Pogba's doping ban has been dramatically shortened from four years to 18 months, meaning that he could return to action in March of 2025. It is unclear, though, if he will play for Juventus again, as reports have suggested that the club are minded to terminate his deal, and potentially allow him to continue his career elsewhere.
Scanavino has not confirmed whether Juventus want Pogba to stay or not, but has confirmed that the club have doubts over his fitness, given that he has not kicked a ball since September 2023, when he came off the bench against Empoli in Serie A.
Scanavino told Sky Sport Italia: “We are talking to his entourage. Pogba is a great player and he certainly can still play. However, between injuries and bans, he effectively hasn’t really played for two years.
“These are all elements we need to evaluate and I can confirm we are talking to his staff.”
There is the prospect of Pogba joining another club and he has been linked with a potential move to France with Ligue 1 club Marseille. He has never plied his trade in his home country at senior level.
