Cardiff City return to action on Saturday in search of their first win of the Championship season, having endured a dismal start to their second campaign under Erol Bulut.

The Bluebirds went into the season hoping for another top-half finish after finishing 12th last time out, but they now find themselves rock-bottom of the table with just one point from their opening five games.

After starting the season with defeats to Sunderland and Burnley, conceding seven goals and failing to score any, the Bluebirds did manage a draw away at Swansea City in the South Wales derby after Callum Robinson's equaliser 11 minutes from time, but they went into the international break with a 2-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough.

Bulut's men returned to action at the weekend in the hope of rectifying their poor start to the campaign, visiting newly-promoted Derby County, but were again left empty-handed after failing to find an equaliser following Kenzo Goudmijn's first-half opener.

With pressure mounting on the Bluebirds boss after his side picked up just one goal and one point from their opening five league games, conceding 11 goals, Cardiff City will be desperate to get their first win of the campaign.

However, they face a tricky test as the visitors travel to Wales looking to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season and move closer to the top of the table in their bid to return to the Premier League for the second time this season.

Under Daniel Farke for the second time after missing out on the play-off final last time out, Leeds United went unbeaten before the international break in September, starting with draws against Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion.

The Whites then kicked off their campaign with back-to-back 2-0 victories over Yorkshire rivals Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday at the end of August, with Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe on the scoresheet against the latter, before returning to action at Elland Road on Saturday for a crucial meeting with fellow promotion chasers Burnley.

However, Farke's men were unable to make it three on the bounce and went away empty-handed after failing to find an equaliser after Luca Koleosho had put the visitors ahead in the 18th minute.

That first defeat saw them drop to ninth in the Championship at this early stage, and Leeds United will be looking to bounce back quickly on Saturday, when they have the chance to return to winning ways and climb back into the top six.
