Cameroon were denied a second successive victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup? qualifiers when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Angola at the Estadio 11 de Novembro on 11 June.

Brentford striker Bryan Mbuemo gave the visitors a dream start when he fired the ball into the net in the 11th minute, but veteran defender Michael Ngadeu inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the 54th minute to earn a share of the spoils.

Cameroon, who crashed out of the group stage in Qatar two years ago, have now won two and drawn two of their four World Cup qualifiers to finish top of Group D, one point clear of second-placed Libya.

Marc Brys' men, who are currently 51st in the latest FIFA World Ranking, will be looking to build on their result against Angola as they begin their quest for a fifth consecutive Africa Cup of Nations appearance.

The Indomitable Lions flattered to deceive at the 2023 AFCON, where they finished second in Group C with four points from three matches before suffering a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria in the round of 16 on 27 January.

While Cameroon will be looking to kick-start their quest for a place in Morocco, they have failed to win their last two matches against Saturday's visitors, losing once and drawing once in their two 2023 AFCON qualifiers last year.

Namibia, on the other hand, were outclassed and outplayed by Angola in the final of the 2024 COSAFA Cup as they were thrashed 5-0 by the Black Sable Antelopes at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on 7 July.

In a game in which Ivan Kamberipa was given his marching orders, Vidinho and Pedro Bondo both scored twice, while Gil Vicente's striker Depu also found the net as Angola secured their fourth COSAFA Cup crown.

Namibia had previously gone on a six-match unbeaten run in all competitions, with three wins and three draws, including consecutive stalemates against Liberia and Tunisia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup? qualifiers.

Collin Benjamin's side have enjoyed an impressive run in the World Cup qualifiers, winning two and drawing two of their four Group H matches to collect eight points and sit second in the standings, two points behind leaders Tunisia.

The Brave Warriors will be keen to put their COSAFA Cup disappointment behind them and start their quest for consecutive AFCON appearances on a positive note after being knocked out of the last eight in Côte d'Ivoire earlier this year.

Namibia took four points from a possible nine in Group E of the 2023 AFCON, finishing as one of the best third-placed teams, before going down 3-0 to southern African rivals Angola in the Round of 16 on 27 January.
