After a disastrous Copa America campaign in which England lost all three of their matches, McClaren has been tasked with rebuilding the side, starting with a strong showing at this year's tournament.

The 63-year-old was most recently part of Erik ten Hag's backroom staff at Manchester United, but has not been a head coach on the international stage since being sacked as England boss in November 2007 when the Three Lions failed to qualify for Euro 2008.

McClaren inherits a team that has never lost a Nations League group match, finishing top of Group B last year with three wins and a draw.

In the 2023-24 Nations League, Jamaica conceded their opening goal in three matches and lost their semi-final against USA 3-1 despite scoring first.

Since that defeat, the Reggae Boyz have won three consecutive games in all competitions when scoring in the first half.

Jamaica are winless in their last two Nations League matches at Independence Park, drawing 2-2 with Haiti in last year's group stage and losing 2-1 in the first leg of their quarter-final tie with Canada.

A series of strong defensive performances in the early stages of the last Nations League season was as good as it got for Cuba in 2023-24.

Yunielys Castillo's men were unbeaten in their first three games at the tournament a year ago, without conceding a single goal, but they failed to find the back of the net in their four group matches, losing 4-0 to Honduras in the final.

Los Leones del Caribe have not been as sharp defensively of late, losing three of their last four competitive matches, conceding three or more goals in each of those defeats, including an 8-0 hammering in a friendly against Russia last November.

Cuba have not won a Nations League match away from home since a 1-0 triumph in Barbados in March 2023, when they were in League B.

The team have won their last six matches in the tournament when finding the back of the net since a 2-1 defeat to Guadeloupe in June 2022.

They have lost five consecutive matches to the Reggae Boyz, failing to score on each occasion, with their last win over them in Jamaica coming in a 2-1 friendly at Independence Park in 2003.
