Bills could have two less names to worry about against Jets on Sunday

The Bills remain perfect against division opponents this season, knocking off the Patriots last week with a chance to extend their record to 5-0 on Sunday against the Jets.
Sitting 4-11 after mustering only nine points in a loss to the Rams last week, the Jets appear to be half-strength heading to Orchard Park with Davante Adams and Sauce Gardner both skipping practice again on Thursday.
Adams, who the Jets traded for midseason to provide Aaron Rodgers with another pass-catching weapon, has missed practice all week with a hip complaint, while Gardner missed both Wednesday and Thursday’s sessions with a hamstring issue.
The Bills don’t need any help beating the Jets. Still, after scraping by for a 23-20 win at the Meadowlands back in Week 6, the absence of two of New York’s most noteworthy playmakers on either side of the ball should make scoring and dominating possession much easier.
Gardner, who has started in 14 games this year for the Jets, owns just one interception on the season and continues to struggle with penalties in coverage.
Adams, on the other hand, hasn’t faced Buffalo since last year’s Week 2 loss with the Raiders, a game that saw him reel in six passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.
MVP frontrunner Josh Allen hinted last week that the Bills have some plays up their sleeve with the playoffs fast approaching, but it’s unlikely we'll see Sean McDermott empty out the playbook with the No. 1 seed out of reach following Kansas City’s win on Christmas Day.
