Isak major doubt for Liverpool game

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak is a major doubt for Wednesday's game with Liverpool due to a hip problem.

The Swedish forward went off in the first half of Newcastle's draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday - and is yet to return to training.

"Well, he took a knock to his hip," said Newcastle boss Eddie Howe. "He wasn't able to carry on.

"We haven't seen him in training yet. I don't think it's a long term injury. We'll wait and see with that.

"It'll be time. It will be pain management. And how quickly the injury settles down."
