St Pauli vs Bayern
Match preview
St Pauli had just 32% of the possession and managed just seven shots on target against Hoffenheim's 12, although both sides created two good chances in the match.
The home side's victory was their first in their last five games, in which they have lost three and drawn one, and it was also their second clean sheet in a row.
Boss Alexander Blessin said that while he was pleased to have taken all three points, he felt that Hoffenheim were dangerous on the flanks and that his players could have been more aggressive when in possession.
Blessin's side have scored seven goals and conceded 11 in the Bundesliga in 2024-25, the worst attacking and fourth-best defensive records in the division.
St Pauli have failed to win any of their four home games this term, drawing two and losing two, although they have kept two clean sheets in that time.
Opponents Bayern narrowly beat Benfica 1-0 in their fourth Champions League game of the season on Wednesday, thanks to a 67th-minute goal from Jamal Musiala.
It was a credit to coach Vincent Kompany that his side managed to limit the Portuguese side to just one shot on target in the entire match, and the win will come as a welcome boost to the Bayern boss, whose side had lost their previous two games in the competition.
The Bavarians were also dominant in their win over Union Berlin, creating over 2.5 xG and limiting the Eisernen to less than 0.5 xG.
The visitors have now kept four clean sheets in their last four matches, scoring 13 goals in the process.Bayern have won their last three Bundesliga games, winning four and drawing two of their previous six.
Kompany's side have been on a roll away from home this season, winning four of their five top-flight fixtures and scoring 22 goals in the process.

Team News
St Pauli goalkeepers Ben Alexander Voll, Soren Ahlers and Sascha Burchert are all ruled out, as is wide player Philipp Treu.
Nikola Vasilj is certain to start in goal, with Manolis Saliakas and Lars Ritzka likely to feature at full-back.
Strikers Conor Metcalfe and Elias Saad and forwards Scott Banks and Simon Zoller are unavailable, so expect Blessin to name a forward line of Oladapo Afolayan, Johannes Eggestein and Morgan Guilavogui.
Bayern have fewer injury concerns but will be without midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic, goalkeeper Sven Ulreich and right-back Sacha Boey, although all three could be available in the near future.
Defenders Hiroki Ito and Josip Stanisic are not expected to feature until December, so Kompany may opt for a defensive line of Raphael Guerreiro, Dayot Upamecano, Kim Min-jae and Alphonso Davies.
Harry Kane is certain to start up front and could be joined by strikers Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman.
Possible starting lineups
St Pauli possible starting lineup:
Vasilj; Wahl, Smith, Mets; Saliakas, Irvine, Boukhalfa, Ritzka; Afolayan, Eggestein, Guilavogui
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Guerreiro, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Kimmich, Palhinha; Olise, Musiala, Coman; Kane
