Former Premier League star Troy Deeney believes that Nicolas Jackson will come good at Chelsea after a promising start to the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
The Senegal international is currently on the back of six goals and three assists in 10 Premier League matches so far as he continues to shine as one of Chelsea’s best players this season.
In response to ex-Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who recently expressed that Jackson should strive to win the Ballon d’Or one day, Deeney suggested that having the right mentality will aid the 23-year-old’s progress in years to come.
“I think he’s very good and he’s 23. I think he is growing and learning,” Deeney told TalkSport, as per Chelsea News.
“There is still loads he could work on. Would I, at this moment in time see him in a place where he could be Ballon d’Or winner? No, but I get what his teammate (Koulibaly) is talking about there.
“In terms of like believing it is the hardest part and getting after it.”
