According to TEAMtalk, Al-Nassr are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to bring De Bruyne to the Saudi Pro League as the club is reportedly prepared to offer him an incredible £1 million per week salary - which will be a massive increase from his current £400,000 wages. Despite this financial pull, there is no certainty over De Bruyne's decision, as he has previously shown reluctance to leave Europe for a move to the Middle East.
De Bruyne's contract at Manchester City expires in the summer of 2025. The report mentions that the club management is hesitant to offer the Belgian a contract extension, largely due to concerns over his recent injury record and advancing age. The midfielder has already missed six matches this season due to a hamstring issue and remained sidelined for 41 games last year which has led CIty to shift their focus on younger talents as they look to usher in a new era at the Etihad.
Ronaldo is reportedly playing a pivotal role in the pursuit of De Bruyne, viewing the Belgian playmaker as a priority signing for Al-Nassr next summer. The Portuguese has significant influence and stature within the club and his advice has led Al-Nassr to push forward with their plans to bring him to the Middle East.
Al-Nassr's pursuit of De Bruyne signals the Saudi Pro League's continued ambition to attract the world’s top talent. They might face competition from MLS's extension outfit, San Diego FC, but the American side is expected to find the SPL's financial muscle difficult to match.
