Match preview
Jahn Regensburg did well against Greuther Fürth, especially since they were down to 10 men in the 63rd minute. They were already winning 1-0 when goalscorer Rasim Bulic was sent off, but they still played well defensively.
The last time they played in the second tier, the home team drew 0-0 with Eintracht Braunschweig on 30 November. This was the first time that manager Andreas Patz has overseen a draw in his five games in charge.
Patz's team are five points behind 15th-placed Eintracht Braunschweig, who are the first team outside the three relegation spots.
Jahn Regensburg have drawn one and lost two of their last three games, but they did win the two games before that and have won their last two DFB-Pokal games.
The team's performance at home has been a bit up and down recently. They've lost three, drawn one and won one of their last six games at Jahnstadion Regensburg.
Meanwhile, the visitors go into the game having drawn 2-2 with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday. They had four big chances in that match and needed an 85th-minute equaliser from Ermedin Demirovic to get a point.
Stuttgart only made it through to the round of 16 thanks to a 76th-minute winner from Chris Fuhrich, so their victory against Kaiserslautern was also hard-fought.
Boss Sebastian Hoeness's side have scored 23 goals and conceded 21 times in the top flight, which makes them the division's joint fifth-best offensive and 12th-best defensive club.
Hoeness's team are having a rough patch, having lost three of their last six games, with two draws and one win in that period.
Stuttgart have won nine of their last 11 games in the DFB-Pokal, but it's worth noting that the visitors have lost three, drawn three and only won once in their last seven away games in all competitions.

Team News
The hosts will be without defender Benedikt Saller until mid-month, while left-back Oscar Schonfelder won't be back until June 2025 due to a cruciate ligament injury.
It looks like midfielders Christian Schmidt and forward Max Meyer won't be back from injury until March and February respectively. This could mean that Patz will go with a back three of Louis Breunig, Rasim Bulic and Leopold Wurm.
Sebastian Ernst and Andreas Geipl are likely to start in midfield, and Kai Proger, Dominik Kother and Christian Kuhlwetter could be picked for the attack.
Stuttgart have a lot of players out, including centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou and left-back Ameen Al Dakhil, but the latter will be back in the next few days.
Forwards Deniz Undav and El Bilal Toure are also out, as are wide players Jamie Leweling and Luca Raimund.
We'll see Hoeness start goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow in front of centre-backs Anrie Chase and Anthony Rouault.
It looks like Atakan Karazor and Frans Kratzig will be playing in a double pivot behind strikers Ermedin Demirovic and Nick Woltemade.
Possible starting lineup
Jahn Regensburg possible starting lineup:
Gebhardt; Wurm, Bulic, Breunig; Christian Viet, Ernst, Geipl, Hein; Proger, Kother; Kuhlwetter
Stuttgart possible starting lineup:
