The Boston Red Sox defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 to tie up the series and set up a rubber match. The heroes of the game were Tanner Houck, Jarren Duran and Trevor Story.
Houck pitched a good game, albeit a short one. He pitched four innings, gave up one run, and struck out four. The Sox threw five relievers, and all of them held their ground and gave up zero runs. Kenley Jansen had an injury scare, and almost look like would blow the game, but figured he was fine and got the final out to seal the game.
Story hit his second homer to get the tying run. Duran scored the go-ahead run with an RBI single. Other than that, the Sox offense did not do much this game.
This puts the Sox back a .500 record. The Sox will play the Rays again tomorrow for the rubber match at 6:50pm EST.
