The band, which famously split in 2009, have announced their reunion, much to the delight of fans who have eagerly awaited the return of one of Britain’s most influential rock bands. The Heaton Park concerts will be part of a 16-date tour that includes shows at Wembley Stadium, as well as performances in Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Dublin.
According to the Daily Mail, the Etihad Stadium was initially considered as a venue for the Oasis reunion concerts in Manchester. However, ongoing construction work at the stadium has put an end to those plans. The expansive project aims to increase the stadium's capacity to 61,000, making it one of the largest football venues in the Premier League, which would also see the construction of a 400-bed hotel, a new club shop, a museum, and various other fan amenities.
The renovation of Etihad's north stand is already underway and will feature a new upper tier, a sky bar with panoramic views of the pitch, a stadium roof walk, and a fan zone capable of hosting 3,000 fans. The north stand is expected to be completed by the start of next season, while the hotel and other facilities are scheduled for completion by 2026. The £300 million investment is set to transform the Etihad into a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue, further cementing Manchester City's status as a top-tier football club.
With a packed schedule that includes some of the UK’s most iconic venues, the Gallagher brothers are set to reignite the magic of Oasis for a new generation of fans. Tickets are set to go live on August 31 and are expected to be sold out quickly as excitement surrounding the band's return has hit the roof.
