Monterrey are still fighting for the top two spots in Group E of the Club World Cup and will face the already eliminated Urawa Red Diamonds on Thursday morning. Urawa Red Diamonds are currently bottom of the table with no points from both games, while Monterrey need a win on the final day to secure a top-two spot.

Urawa Red Diamonds have been inconsistent in the Club World Cup, with just two wins, three draws and two losses in seven J1 League games. Urawa Red Diamonds are drawn in a challenging group with Inter Milan, River Plate and Monterrey, and are widely expected to finish bottom of the table, a result that is likely going into the final round of games.

Urawa Red Diamonds started their campaign in Group E with a 1-3 loss to River Plate, and then suffered a 1-2 defeat to Inter Milan, with Urawa taking the lead initially but conceding in the 78th minute before Valentin Carboni scored the winning goal in the 92nd minute. The result leaves Urawa FC bottom of Group E with zero points, meaning the Red Devils are already certain of elimination as they are four points behind the top two teams. Despite this, Maciej Scozza will be hoping his side can emerge victorious on the final day as he looks to leave the tournament with their heads held high, with each Club World Cup victory worth a staggering £1.5m.

As for Monterrey, Domenech Torrente's side will be aiming to take all three points, finish in the top two and secure qualification for the knockout rounds. Mexico are widely seen as the third favourites to advance in Group E, with River Plate and Inter Milan being favourites, but two draws in the group stage so far have given them a good chance of progressing. Monterrey are two points behind the top two teams heading into the final game, but with River Plate and Inter Milan facing off against each other, a Monterrey win will almost certainly secure their progression.

A win for River Plate or Inter would mean a Monterrey win would move them into the top two of the table, while a draw between the current top two would still be enough for Mexico to advance, as long as they score more goals than either of the top two teams. For Monterrey, midfielder Jorge Rodriguez will miss the final game of Group E, as the midfielder received a yellow card in the first two games, meaning Nelson De Osa is likely to partner Oliver Torres. Sergio Ramos was outstanding in Monterrey's defense and scored the team's only goal in the group so far, and the center back will once again captain the team.

Urawa Red Diamonds predicted starting lineup:

Nishikawa; Ishihara, Boza, Huibratton, Naganuma; Yasui, Gustafsson; Kaneko, Matsumoto, Watanabe; Matsuo

Monterrey predicted starting lineup:

Andrada; Aguirre, Medina, Ramos, Arteaga; De Osa, Torres; Corona, Canales, Ocampos; Bertelame
