Negotiations between Genoa and Grønbæk are ongoing. The proposed deal is a loan with an option to buy.
Genoa are moving quickly and are now close to securing the signing of Albert Grønbæk, a Danish attacking midfielder born in 2001. Following initial contact, Genoa intensified their dialogue with Rennes, and the negotiations are now entering their final stage.
An agreement has been reached between the two clubs on the basis of a loan with an option to buy — a formula that satisfies both parties and could allow Grønbæk to enjoy greater continuity in a favourable technical environment.
After a difficult season split between Rennes and Southampton (where he played on loan in the second half of the year), Grønbæk is seeking opportunities and a fresh start. While waiting to clarify the future of Albert Gudmundsson, who is being contested by several clubs with Fiorentina being particularly vigilant, Genoa has decided to move ahead and protect themselves by offering Patrick Vieira a new addition of quality to the offensive zone.
Having made 23 appearances in total in the recently concluded season and gained valuable experience in Norway, France and England, Grønbæk is aiming to make his mark at Genoa. For him, Serie A represents a stimulating challenge and a concrete opportunity for growth.
