In their previous match, the Columbus Crew were without goalkeeper Patrick Schulte due to an abdominal issue, while Sean Zawadzki dealt with a sore knee and Rudy Camacho was sidelined with a hamstring strain. Nicolas Hagen is currently with the Guatemalan national team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which begins this weekend.


Cesar Ruvalcaba Perez scored the only goal for his team against Miami, marking his first in an MLS regular season game.


For the Vancouver Whitecaps, captain Ryan Gauld missed another match last weekend as he recovers from a knee injury. Sam Adekugbe is out for the season due to an Achilles tear, while Sebastian Berhalter and Brian White will join the U.S. team for the Gold Cup this weekend. Jayden Nelson and Ali Ahmed are with the Canadian team for the competition.


Jeevan Singh Badwal, Daniel Rios, and Damir Kreilach all scored in their last outing, while Yohei Takaoka earned his eighth clean sheet of the season, tying for the most in MLS alongside Canada's Dayne St Clair.
