Jordan have qualified for the World Cup for the first time at the 11th attempt after South Korea's 2-0 win over Iraq confirmed the west Asian nation's progress to the finals.

Ali Olwan scored a hat-trick in Jordan's 3-0 win over Oman earlier on Thursday before South Korea's win in Basra confirmed the country's progress to the 2026 finals in North America.

Kim Jing-Yu and Oh Hyeon-Gyu scored the goals to ensure the Koreans will finish in the top two in Asian Group B with one qualifier to spare.

South Korea and Jordan have already secured the first and second place in Group B. South Korea has 5 wins, 4 draws and 19 points, while Jordan has 4 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss and 16 points. The two countries have the same number of goals scored and conceded, both 16/7.
