Following Ipswich Town's relegation to the Championship, Chelsea have announced the signing of English striker Liam Delap. The 22-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the Stamford Bridge club.
Delap scored a total of 12 Premier League goals in 37 appearances last season.
Chelsea will pay £20 million up front, a figure which, according to BBC Sport, activated a release clause in the striker's contract with Ipswich. The fee is expected to rise to £30 million later.
Delap, a product of Manchester City's academy, follows in the footsteps of Cole Palmer by swapping the Etihad for West London.
"I understand the stature of this club and can see the trajectory it is on with these players and the head coach," the striker said in a statement.
"It's going to be an incredible place for me to develop, and I hope to achieve amazing things here and help the club win more trophies."
