After narrowly escaping a relegation playoff last year, IFK Norrköping currently sit in ninth place in Sweden's top division after 11 games, aiming for a more secure position and potentially a top-half finish.

IFK Norrköping earned a point in their last match, drawing 1-1 at home against league leaders Mjällby on Monday, with Arnor Ingvi Traustason scoring their late equalizer.

However, this result extended their winless streak at home to four matches, and they have secured just two wins in six Allsvenskan games at their home ground this season.

Martin Falk's team will now seek to end that drought for a home victory, as the 30-year-old coach adapts to his role as a senior manager.

Given Norrköping's unstable financial situation, they might need to sell key players like Isak Andri Sigurgeirsson, Kojo Peprah Oppong, and 17-year-old Axel Bronner during the summer break, which could make Falk's job even more challenging.

The hosts have history in their favor, as GAIS have lost all four previous encounters over the past two years: Norrköping won at Gamla Ullevi in March, achieving six goals without conceding in league and cup matches.

Yet, this season, GAIS are just one point and a few places ahead of their opponents, and they are aiming for five consecutive top-flight games without a defeat.

Last week's 2-1 home victory over struggling Sirius – featuring a comeback sealed by Ibrahim Diabate's late winner – extended their unbeaten run to four games, leaving them seventh in the Allsvenskan standings.

Having finished only six points short of European qualification last year, the Gothenburg club still hopes to compete for it again, despite a 10-point gap to the top three.

Fredrik Holmberg's side could be closer in the race, but they have drawn more than half of their matches in the 2025 campaign – including four out of six away games.

Norrköping manager Martin Falk will be without two key defenders on Saturday, as both Kojo Peprah Oppong and Moutaz Neffati are serving suspensions due to yellow card accumulation.

Goalkeeper David Mitov and midfielder Stephen Bolma are also absent due to wrist and knee injuries, respectively, but IFK's captain and six-goal top scorer Christoffer Nyman is expected to return from his layoff.

Thus, Nyman could join Arnor Ingvi Traustason and Malmö loanee Sebastian Jörgensen – who has five league goals this season – in the attacking line.

Meanwhile, GAIS boast the Allsvenskan's leading scorer, Ivorian forward Ibrahim Diabate – formerly with Mallorca and Sevilla – who has netted eight goals so far.

Harun Ibrahim might again be out due to injury, while it is uncertain if Joackim Aberg can return after completing the league's concussion protocol.

IFK Norrköping possible starting lineup:

Andersson; Eriksson, Watson, Sogaard, Kalley; Moberg Karlsson, Ceesay, Sigurgeirsson; Jörgensen, Nyman, Traustason

GAIS possible starting lineup:

Krasniqi; Wangberg, Frej, Beckman, Thomasson; Milovanovic, Holmen, Boudri; Lundgren, Diabate, Becirovic
