Lyon's Official Statement:

"Following the 9-month suspension imposed on Paulo Fonseca by the LFP Disciplinary Committee on March 5, Fonseca exercised his legal right to request mediation from the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), seeking reconciliation with the LFP.

This procedure did not contest the alleged facts but demonstrated an open and responsible approach aimed at proposing 'a sanction adjustment better aligned with reality' through constructive dialogue.

However, due to the relevant body's (LFP) refusal to engage in discussions, the appointed mediator declared an 'absence of mediation means' and declined to make any recommendations."
