This Sunday, Fiorentina travel to Udinese on the final day of the Serie A campaign, hoping to play continental football again next year. The Violet Club still has a chance to qualify for the English Football Association League for a fourth consecutive season, but they will need a lot of help from other teams and also get the job done at the Blue Energy Stadium.

Fiorentina missed out on a European final for the first time in three years at the end of May, but they still have a lot of games to play and hope to reach European competition again. Raffaele Palladino's team currently has 62 points, and they have never missed out on Europe with more than 62 points. However, 65 points may not be enough this time around, as sixth-placed Lazio only need a point at home against Lecce to guarantee at least the last European spot.

Fiorentina does have the advantage against Lazio, though, so if they win and Lazio lose to Lecce, then Palladino's team will be celebrating. They still have a glimmer of hope thanks to a 3-2 win at Bologna last weekend, but it looks like it’s too little too late as three straight away defeats in both competitions have taken a heavy toll on their goals, especially in their previous away game against Venezia.

Udinese have won three of their last six Serie A games against Fiorentina, the same number of wins as in their previous 17 games, but in recent weeks they have exemplified the dictionary definition of a “beach team”. Having just managed to stay out of the relegation zone since mid-March, Udinese have lost seven of their nine Serie A games, the most in Serie A, while no other top club has fewer points than them in that time (four).

Kosta Lengjajic’s side have picked up just one point from their last four games at the Stadio Alegre, even losing an embarrassing 2-1 to Monza, who had suffered an 11-game road losing streak before the game. Udinese's home form has been disappointing overall, especially against teams in the top half, with Udinese picking up just eight points from nine home games in Serie A this season.

Udinese predicted starting lineup:

Okoye; Ehizibue, Kabasele, Sole; Modesto, Zarraga, Karlstrom, Zemura; Atta, Luca, Eklenkamp

Florence predicted starting lineup:

De Gea; Pongracic, Mari, Ranieri; Dodo, Mandragora, Richardson, Fagioli, Gosens; Keane, Gudmundsson
