In the 2024-25 FA Cup final, Crystal Palace defeated Manchester City 1-0 to claim their first major trophy in the club's 120-year history!
Match Recap:
In the first half, Haaland's header was saved by Henderson, Muñoz assisted Eze for the opener, Saliba's backheel attempt was denied, and Marmoush's penalty was again saved by Henderson. In the second half, Doku's shot created danger, Marmoush's goal was ruled out, and Henderson made another incredible save to deny Echeverri. Final score: Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City.
Making History:
Founded in 1905, Crystal Palace had previously reached the FA Cup final twice (1989-90 and 2015-16) but lost to Manchester United on both occasions. The club had won the English second division twice (1978-79 and 1993-94) and the third division once (1920-21).
This FA Cup campaign saw Crystal Palace eliminate three lower-league teams to reach the quarterfinals, then successively knock out Fulham, Aston Villa, and Man City to lift the trophy!
With this historic triumph, Crystal Palace will make their European debut next season in the Europa League. This marks the club's first-ever participation in continental competition, and 50-year-old Austrian manager Oliver Glasner has etched his name into Palace folklore.
