Tottenham Hotspur secured a spot in the Europa League final without any issues in the Arctic Circle, delivering a steady 2-0 win against Norway's Bodo/Glimt to achieve a 5-1 aggregate victory on Thursday.

Ange Postecoglou's team maintained their lead from the previous week in north London, with goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro in the second half eliminating any chance of a Bodo/Glimt recovery.

Despite a challenging Premier League season, Tottenham now have a chance to claim their first trophy since 2008 when they face English rivals Manchester United in Bilbao on May 21.

Solanke, who also scored in the first leg, tucked away a Cristian Romero header in the 63rd minute, while Porro's cross unexpectedly looped past goalkeeper Nikita Haikin, delighting the visiting fans.

With Bodo/Glimt holding a strong home record on their artificial pitch at Aspmyra Stadium, local supporters hoped for a turnaround that would make history as the first Norwegian team in a European final.

Bodo/Glimt controlled the ball in the first half, but Ole Blomberg's volley into the side netting was their closest attempt on a lackluster evening.

On a rainy synthetic surface deep inside the Arctic Circle, facing a determined underdog team, conditions were ripe for Tottenham to falter in their typical fashion—known as 'Spursy' for their history of underperforming in key moments.

Although Tottenham held a 3-1 advantage from the first leg, traveling fans had valid concerns after Bodo/Glimt's late goal by captain Ulrik Saltnes shifted the tie's momentum; the team had previously defeated Porto, Besiktas, Olympiakos, and Lazio at home in their impressive campaign.

Currently 16th in the Premier League with 19 losses from 35 games, Tottenham is on track for their worst top-flight season since 1994, and manager Postecoglou appears aware that his future at the club may be uncertain.

Amid a difficult year, Tottenham now glimpse a path to redemption and their first European trophy since winning the UEFA Cup in 1984.

Manchester United, enduring a similarly tough season, advanced with a 7-1 aggregate win over Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, meaning the teams ranked 15th and 16th in the Premier League will compete for a Champions League spot next season.
