Tottenham Hotspur's midfielder James Maddison is set to be sidelined for three months because of a serious knee injury, as reported by BBC Sport.
He suffered the injury during last Thursday's Europa League semi-final first leg, where Tottenham achieved a 3-1 home win against Bodo/Glimt, and Maddison scored the team's second goal.
The injury raises concerns about his availability for pre-season, though the England international will not need knee surgery.
If the 28-year-old's rehabilitation progresses as expected, he is projected to be ready for the start of the next season.
This represents the second major injury for Spurs in a week, following midfielder Lucas Bergvall's ankle injury from training.
These injuries pose a significant challenge for Tottenham's manager Ange Postecoglou ahead of the second leg against Bodo/Glimt in Norway on Thursday and the potential Europa League final later this month.
