Leeds United has been promoted to the Premier League under Daniel Farke (48). Thanks to his team's 6-0 win over Stoke City in the English Championship and rival Sheffield United's 2-1 loss in the top-of-the-table clash at Burnley, he secured his return to the top flight with two games remaining.

Speaking of Burnley: Kompany's former club has also secured promotion.

Farke is the first German coach to achieve promotion to the Premier League for the third time. He previously achieved this twice (2019 and 2021) with Norwich City. He is only the second coach after legendary coach Neil Warnock (76) to achieve this since the Premier League's inception in 1992.

Next year, Daniel Farke will be appear on the sidelines in the Premier League.

With Leeds United, the former Gladbach coach (2022/23 season) is first in the English Championship with 94 points, eight points ahead of third-placed Sheffield United with just two games remaining.

Daniel Farke on Sky Sports about the promotion: "It took a lot of energy, but we did it in the end. I'm proud of the boys. (...) We also fully deserve to be back in the Premier League, where we belong."

Leeds are having a strong season: Since the end of November, the "Peacocks" have lost only one of their 26 matches, and have suffered only three defeats this season. Their goal difference of +60 is also by far the best in the league.

Last year, Farke and the club were eliminated in the playoffs. Then came the major bloodletting: 22 players left for a whopping €162 million. These included Georginio Rutter (22/€46.7 million to Brighton), Archie Gray (19/€41.25 million to Tottenham), and Crysencio Summerville (23/€29.3 million to West Ham). In return, 20 players arrived for €32 million – a gain of €130 million. This did not detract from the club's success.

A few weeks ago, the newly promoted coach spoke to Kicker magazine about his relationship with Klopp: "I've always had a brilliant relationship with him and knew I could call him at any time." He added with a grin: "The only difference now is that we could theoretically even count such conversations as working time."

Now he can ask him for tips on how to compete against the big players in the Premier League.
