Inter Milan came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with AC Milan in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final on Wednesday, thanks to second-half goals from Tammy Abraham and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Abraham gave Milan the lead shortly after the break with an angled shot that found the bottom corner, before Inter equalised in the 67th minute with a powerful long-range strike from Calhanoglu.
Serie A leaders Inter, who travel to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday, are bidding for their first treble in 15 years.
For Milan, who are ninth in Serie A and five points off the European places, success in the domestic cup remains their best chance of qualifying for next season's competition.
The Coppa Italia winners automatically qualify for the Europa League.
Nine-time winners Inter last lifted the trophy in 2023, while Milan have won the Italian Cup five times, most recently in 2003.
Bologna beat Empoli 3-0 in the first leg of Tuesday's other semi-final.
