Brighton officially issued an announcement, announcing the signing of 18-year-old winger Yoon Do-young from Daejeon Asiana Citizen.
Brighton official announcement:
We are delighted to announce the signing of winger Yoon Do-young from Daejeon Asiana Citizens Club on undisclosed terms. He will remain in South Korea until the end of June, joining Brighton on July 1st on a contract until June 2030, with the expectation that he will be loaned out next season.
Technical director David Weir said: “Yoon Do-young is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Asia and we are delighted that he has chosen to join Brighton. We will be monitoring his development in the Korean league closely until the summer and then find a suitable loan opportunity for him next season.”
The 18-year-old winger has contributed three assists and one goal in 22 league games for Daejeon Hana Citizen since making his debut in May 2024, and earlier this month he helped South Korea reach the semi-finals in the U20 Asian Cup, contributing one goal and one assist in five games.
