Slot expects Alexander-Arnold to miss Sunday's League Cup final at Wembley but hopes Konate's case, who limped off late in extra-time against Paris Saint-Germain, may be simply fatigue.
Slot said in the post-match press conference: "I need to confirm it again, but in my opinion, Konate's situation is more like he is tired rather than injured. As for Arnold, he was forced to leave the field. This is never a good sign."
"From what I've heard, seeing the images or the situation when he got hurt, it doesn't feel too positive. So I'd be surprised if he's able to play on Sunday."
Speaking about the physical strain that this game may bring to the team, Slot added: "The good thing is that we have a final to play on Sunday, so psychologically it may be the best motivation because this is what we play football for: to compete for the championship."
“And then after that we have two and a half weeks to adjust before the season starts again.”
"If we can play nine more games with this intensity - and if we can get this level of enthusiasm from the fans at home - then I'm really looking forward to the final stages of the season."
