Getafe vs Atletico
Match preview
Getafe have won seven, drawn nine and lost ten of their 26 league games this term, picking up 30 points to sit in 14th place, six points above the relegation zone.
A six-match unbeaten run in La Liga between January 12 and February 14, including four wins, lifted them above the relegation zone, but they have lost their last two matches against Real Betis and Leganes.
Goals have been a real problem for Jose Bordalas' side this term, with only 21 in their 26 games, but they have the second-best defensive record behind Atletico, having conceded just 21 times.
This weekend's clash will be a battle of the two best defensive teams in the league, but Atletico scored three times in the meeting between the two sides last season en route to a 3-0 victory.
Getafe also conceded five goals against Atletico in the Copa del Rey at the beginning of February, while they have not beaten the Red and Whites in La Liga since November 2011.
Atletico were in Champions League action on Tuesday night, losing 2-1 to Real Madrid in the first leg of their last-16 tie, with everything on the line in next week's return leg at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Simeone's side cannot afford to take their eye off the ball in La Liga, however, as they currently sit second in the standings, one point behind leaders Barcelona and two ahead of reigning champions Real Madrid in third.
Atletico were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Celta Vigo on 15 February, but have won their last two games in La Liga, beating Valencia 3-0 and beating Athletic Bilbao 1-0 last weekend.
The Red and Whites have the best home record in La Liga this season, but have dropped points in six of their 12 league games away from home and this could be a tricky assignment for the title contenders.
Atletico are bidding for a 12th La Liga title this season and it would be one of the club's greatest achievements if they were to finish above both Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the table this term.

Team News
Getafe are likely to be without the services of Omar Alderete due to injury, but Domingos Duarte will return to the side after serving his suspension in the defeat to Leganes last time out.
Coach Bordalas could make a number of changes to the team that started the last game, with Duarte likely to return at the back while Luis Milla could come in as a central midfielder.
Borja Mayoral has endured a difficult season due to fitness issues, but the former Real Madrid striker has four La Liga goals to his name in 2024-25, and he will continue to feature in the final third of the pitch.
As for Atletico, Cesar Azpilicueta has return to the squad list while captain Koke remain doubts, but the Red and Whites did not pick up any new problems during their narrow defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League last time out.
Simeone could make just one change to the side that started against Real Madrid, with Nahuel Molina coming in for Marcos Llorente on the right side of the back four.
Alexander Sorloth continues to struggle for game time due to the form of Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez, and the striker, who has nine league goals to his name this season, is expected to drop to the bench again on Saturday.
Possible starting lineup
Getafe possible starting lineup:

Atletico Madrid possible starting lineup:
