Doubts: Gusto 75%Lavia 25%

Banned:Mudryk

Latest News: Benoit Badiashile (muscle) and Trevoh Chalobah (back) returned to the Chelsea squad for Thursday's UEFA Conference League tie against FC Copenhagen, while Malo Gusto came off in that match but will "probably" make a very swift recovery for Sunday's clash with Leicester City. In a further boost, Romeo Lavia (muscle) has rejoined training in the last few days, even if the visit of the Foxes may come too soon for his involvement.

Nicolas Jackson (hamstring), Marc Guiu (hamstring), Aaron Anselmino (unknown) and Noni Madueke (hamstring) also remain out. While there's not a great deal of doubt about the composition of the front six (there were midweek run-outs for Tyrique George, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Shumaira Mheuka, with Maresca clearly having one eye on Sunday), there is debate to be had in defence outside of Filip Jorgensen, Marc Cucurella and Levi Colwill.

Reece James hasn't started two games in 72-ish hours in nearly two years and was used in midfield on Thursday anyway, while there's obviously some lingering doubt over Gusto - so we may well see Chalobah at right-back. With Tosin Adarabioyo and Chalobah handed 90 minutes in Denmark, you wonder if Maresca is also eyeing up Leicester's visit for Wesley Fofana's first start of 2025; the fit-again defender was on the bench in Gameweek 27 and ineligible in the UEFA Europa League.

Leicester City

Out:Fatawu

Doubts:

Latest News: Ricardo Pereira (hamstring) has rejoined training and is available, while Woyo Coulibaly is over the minor issue that forced his no-show in Gameweek 27. That just leaves Abdul Fatawu (knee), who is out for the season, on the sidelines.

Ruud van Nistelrooy hailed an improved second-half performance against West Ham, with two of the players brought on after the interval - Harry Winks and Stephy Mavididi - potentially in line for promotions to the starting XI as reward for their contributions. The Leicester boss has resisted the temptation to start both Mavididi and Facundo Buonanotte in the same team for some time so if the former does get the nod, you wonder whether the Dutchman would offset that by recalling the more conservative Jordan Ayew on the opposite wing.

The Foxes didn't offer West Ham up loads of chances in their last outing, so van Nistelrooy may be tempted to keep things unchanged at the back. Jannik Vestergaard was a little static for both Hammers goals, so perhaps Caleb Okoli can mount a challenge at centre-half.
