Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu is facing a three-match domestic suspension, following his red card in the 3-2 win over Ipswich Town.
The defender was dismissed by referee Darren England after studying slow-motion replays of a challenge on Omari Hutchinson, not initially penalised with a free-kick, following a VAR review.
While the forceful tackle did clearly hurt the Town man, Ruben Amorim was keen to stress afterwards that there was no malicious intent from his player, who is now going to be unavailable for Sunday's Emirates FA Cup fifth-round clash with Fulham.
Dorgu is also set to miss the Premier League games against Arsenal and Leicester City in March.
However, the Denmark international will be eligible for the two Europa League round-of-16 ties against Real Sociedad. The Spanish side were in cup semi-final action on Wednesday night, losing 1-0 at home to Real Madrid.
"It's important," Amorim said of his upcoming team selections. "We have players out so we have to keep our players available. We have to make some rotation but we have to fight for every game. It's not a difference in the FA Cup or Europa League.
"He [Dorgu] is going to be ready to play. He will play in the Europa League, for sure, as we have to make rotation. It's the life of a player, you make a mistake but you have to go again and play the next game."
