Sevilla vs Mallorca
Match preview
Sevilla are one of a number of teams involved in a top-six battle at this stage of the season, with the race for the final European spot in the Spanish top flight proving to be a fascinating one due to the number of teams involved.
Indeed, while Garcia Pimienta's side are 13th in the table, they are just four points behind sixth-placed Rayo Vallecano, and Los Nervionenses go into the game on the back of an impressive 4-0 win over Real Valladolid.
Sevilla have lost just one of their last six top-flight games, that coming at home to Barcelona, so there have been positive signs in recent weeks.
Garcia Pimienta's side have taken 18 points from their 12 home league games this term, and they will welcome a Mallorca side who have taken 15 points from their 11 top-flight away matches in 2024-25.
Sevilla finished 14th in the Spanish top flight last season, their lowest position since they were relegated at the end of the 1999-2000 season, so there is plenty of room for improvement when it comes to their final position this term.
Mallorca, meanwhile, come into the game on the back of a 3-1 win over Las Palmas, their first success in the Spanish top flight since before the winter break.
Like Sevilla, the Pirates are also involved in the battle for the top six and currently sit in seventh place, with a record of 10 wins, four draws and 10 defeats from 24 games to amass 34 points, a point behind sixth-placed Rayo.
Jagoba Arrasate's side have struggled in attack this season, finding the back of the net on just 23 occasions, but they have conceded just 30 goals and their defensive record has kept them in and around the European spots.
Mallorca have struggled against Sevilla in recent times, winning just one of their last nine top-flight games, a 1-0 victory on home soil in December 2023.
Sevilla won 2-1 in the corresponding fixture at the Estadio Ramon last season, while the two sides were locked at 0-0 in the early stages of the 2024-25 campaign.

Team News
Sevilla welcome back Loic Bade and Saul Niguez after the pair missed the 4-0 win over Real Valladolid through suspension, with the former set to return to the heart of defence.
Saul may have to settle for a place on the bench, though, as Juanlu Sanchez scored twice from midfield last time out, and it would be a huge surprise if the Spaniard was left out of the XI.
Sevilla have no new injury concerns, but Albert Sambi Lokonga, Tanguy Nianzou and Akor Adams will all be rested on Monday night.
As for Mallorca, Samu Costa and Manu Morlanes are both major doubts for the Estadio Ramon clash.
Arrasate could name an unchanged side from the one that kicked off against Las Palmas, with Dani Rodriguez continuing in the number 10 position.
Vedat Muriqi scored a brace in Mallorca's last game and will again lead the line, while Robert Navarro and Takuma Asano will provide support in the wide areas.
Possible starting lineup
Sevilla possible starting lineup:
Nyland; Carmona, Bade, Salas, Pedrosa; Juanlu, Agoume, Sow; Lukebakio, Romero, Vargas
Mallorca possible starting lineup:
Greif; Maffeo, Valjent, Raillo, Mojica; Mascarell, Darder; Asano, D Rodriguez, Navarro; Muriqi
