Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was once again an NBA All-Star, but he’s never had to discuss trade rumors before.
He had some interesting things to say to the Greek NBA right holders and COSMOTE TV. During the interview, Antetokounmpo joked about the idea of being traded to the Detroit Pistons. This came up in the conversation with Greek reporters after they suggested for him to get traded to Detroit. It was brought as an example like the Luka Doncic trade.
"At least Luka went from Dallas to LA, why you are sending me to Detroit? NBA is business, if I got traded I would inform my family and would do my job," Antetokounmpo replied.
Antetokounmpo was also asked if he would text his general manager asking for a trade.
“I don’t think that I would ever text (and ask for a trade), I am not this kind of guy, they would have to kick me out," Antetokounmpo responded.
It's clear the Doncic trade to the Los Angeles Lakers has changed the entire landscape of the league. Even reporters are curious about other stars and how they would feel if they were unprecedentedly traded.
Throughout his career in Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo has made it known that he loves the franchise and the city and has no intentions on leaving. But the reality is like he said. At the end of the day, it is business. Trades happen, and he would have no other choice than to adapt to whatever situation he's presented.
Unlike the Lakers, or Dallas Mavericks, the Bucks are a clear top-five team in their respective conference. But the franchise is not satisfied with just that. They want to return to championship form like they were a few seasons ago. They're hoping the trade deadline deal for Kyla Kuzma was what they needed to compete again and keep their star Antetokounmpo satisfied.
