Mallorca vs Las Palmas

Match preview

Mallorca have not had the best of starts to 2025, losing their first five games of the year, but they managed to put an end to that run on Monday night, sharing the points with Osasuna in a 1-1 draw.

Jagoba Arrasate's side have won nine, drawn four and lost 10 of their 23 league games this term, leaving them 10th in the standings on 31 points, just four behind sixth-placed Rayo Vallecano.

It could still be an excellent campaign for the Pirates given their proximity to a European spot, but a return of just one point from the last 12 available is worrying, with their last league win coming against Getafe almost two months ago.

Mallorca have struggled for consistency at home this season, winning four, drawing four and losing four of their 12 games in front of their own fans, while Las Palmas have taken 10 points from their 11 away games.

The Pirates have won their last two league games against Las Palmas - a 3-2 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season and a 1-0 win in the corresponding fixture last season.

Las Palmas are also winless since before the winter break, with their last victory coming at home to Espanyol on 22 December.

Since then, Diego Martinez's side have taken one point from five games, losing to Getafe, Real Madrid, Girona and Villarreal, and their recent struggles have left them 15th in La Liga.

Los Amarillos have six wins, five draws and 12 defeats from their 23 games this season, picking up 23 points, just one ahead of 18th-placed Valencia, who have played the same number of games.

Real Valladolid are in danger of slipping to the foot of the table, but only two points separate 19th-placed Alaves from Las Palmas in 15th, so a series of results could change their position.

Las Palmas have won just one of their last seven games against Mallorca in all competitions, while Sunday's opponents have not been beaten in the top flight since August 2001.

Team News

Mallorca will again be without Toni Lato and Antonio Sanchez due to injury, while Manu Morlanes will undergo a late fitness test on a knee problem and the midfielder is unlikely to be available.

Cyle Larin came on as an unused substitute against Osasuna last time out, and the Canada international is likely to return to the bench, with Muriqi set to start in the middle.

Coach Arrasate could name an unchanged side from the one that beat Osasuna, meaning another start for Dani Rodriguez at number 10.

For Las Palmas, Jaime Mata and Dario Essugo will be back in the squad after serving suspensions against Villarreal, but Sandro Ramirez will be missing through suspension, while Jose Campana is out with a hamstring problem.

The visitors will also be without the services of Kirian Rodriguez, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a recurrence of cancer.

Fabio Silva, Marc Cardona and Adnan Januzaj are also doubts, with the away side potentially missing a host of key players, meaning Oli McBurnie could be handed another start in midfield.
