Lionel Messi and Rodri, both Ballon d'Or winners, attended Super Bowl LIX, enjoying America's biggest sporting event as the defending NFL champion Chiefs took on the Eagles.

There had been speculation about whether or not Messi would attend, due to the fact Inter Miami had a preseason friendly in Honduras less than 24 hours before kickoff in New Orleans.

The visits from both Messi and Rodri highlight the growing impact of American football on the global stage. The NFL continues to expand its footprint and will play its first-ever game in the Republic of Ireland this year.

Inter Miami kick off their competitive fixtures on Feb. 18, when they play in CONCACAF Champions League against Sporting Kansas City.
