Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has spoken out about the club's alleged breaches of financial regulations.

Last season, Manchester City achieved an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title, and continues to achieve results that can be hailed as a golden era under manager Guardiola. However, although the club has won numerous titles with one of the world's best financial powers, in February 2023, the Premier League released an official statement stating that they were "suspected of numerous violations of financial regulations." Despite Manchester City's continued denials, a total of 115 accusations were made in the nine-year period from 2009 to 2018 regarding potential breaches of financial rules. The trial, which lasted approximately three months, concluded in December last year, and attention is now focused on the outcome of the independent committee's decision.

Meanwhile, manager Guardiola, who attended the press conference, commented on the alleged violation of financial rules. ``I think there will be a judgment within a month, and then I will give my opinion on what has happened,'' he said, denying that this winter's £180 million (approximately 33.8 billion yen) major reinforcements were a countermeasure against a future ban on reinforcements.

"It's difficult to convince people with what I say and not make them think we're just a club with money. Over the past five years we've had the lowest net spending of any club in the top six."``No matter how much money we spend in this season's transfer window, we are still behind Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool. The only reason for that is because we have sold so many players over the last few seasons. But I also know that the image of this club has always been that of a club that is all about money.''
