Flamengo officially announced that the team's midfielder Alcaraz joined Everton on loan and returned to the Premier League, including a mandatory buyout clause.

Alcaraz is 22 years old, plays as a midfielder, and made his debut in the Argentine competition club. Alcaraz played for Southampton, but Southampton was relegated after the 22-23 season. After playing in the Championship for half a season, Alcaraz was loaned to Serie A Juventus, and then transferred to Flamengo last summer for a transfer fee of €18 million.

The official announcement is as follows:

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo announces that it has

reached an agreement for the loan transfer of athlete Carlos Alcaraz to Everton, England. The contract includes a mandatory purchase clause subject to the fulfillment of goals established between the parties.

"The decision to negotiate with Alcaraz was made after a detailed analysis, considering both the vision of the technical committee and the interests of the club. He is a great player, but, within the game model adopted, we understand that he would have few opportunities to play his best football. The negotiation guarantees a good opportunity for the athlete to continue his career with more protagonism and, at the same time, respects the financial and sporting strategy of the club", explained José Boto, Flamengo's Football Director.

The player will not travel with the delegation for next Sunday's match (2), against Botafogo, in a game valid for the Supercopa Rei 2025.
