After Wolves beat Manchester United 2-0 at home, they seem to have fallen into the abyss of no wins again. They have not won any of the past five Premier League games. Currently, they have fallen into the relegation zone again and are ranked third from the bottom.
After losing to the Gunners at home in the last round, they will face the in-form Aston Villa in this round.
Sasa Kalajdzic (knee), Yerson Mosquera (knee), Leon Chiwome (knee) and Enso Gonzalez (knee) remain out but Boubacar Traore (knee) is back in training after a long-term lay-off.
Carlos Forbs (knee/ankle) missed Gameweek 23 and Jorgen Strand Larsen (muscle) came off early in the defeat to Arsenal but Vitor Pereira said after full-time that neither injury was thought to be “serious”.
Gomez was sent off for a second yellow card for stepping on Timber in the match against Arsenal. This was the first red card of the Brazilian's career and he will also be suspended for this red card until 16th February.
Aston Villa has performed quite well this season. They just defeated Celtic in the Champions League with Morgan Rogers' hat-trick and directly advanced to the round of 16 of the Champions League as the eighth place - which means their schedule is not so tight.
But the bad news is,Villa lost Matty Cash to a muscle injury after just 30 minutes of their clash with Celtic on Wednesday. Emery did not provide an update on the full-back after the match, with Cash not offering any detail either, but his words suggested he is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Pau Torres (foot), Amadou Onana (hamstring) and Ross Barkley (calf) remained out for that game, too, but Barkley and Onana should not be too far away this weekend.
Tyrone Mings (knee) was a new addition to the injury list last weekend. Emery said on Tuesday that the stopper would be out “only a couple of weeks”.
