The initiative will be used for the following five matches: Bayern Munich vs. Holstein Kiel, St. Pauli vs. Augsburg, Fortuna Düsseldorf vs. Ulm, Frankfurt vs. Wolfsburg and Leverkusen vs. Hoffenheim. The home stadiums of Dortmund, Freiburg, RB Leipzig and Fürth will also be part of the test phase.

The German Football Association announced that if the referee reviews a decision on a monitor in the review area at the edge of the pitch, or if he changes a decision based on the advice of the video assistant, he will always speak to the crowd to inform them of the result.
