According to reports, Barcelona has decided to adjust its disclosure policy on player transfers and contract renewals: it will no longer disclose the amount of the release clause in the player's contract. This policy has been implemented in the two recently announced contract renewals, namely Araujo's contract renewal until 2031 and Gerard Martín's contract renewal until 2028.

Regarding Araujo's contract extension, some media believe that this move is because Barcelona has reached a tacit understanding with him: if he fails to consolidate his starting position under Flick's system in the second half of the season, the club will not set a high transfer price for him in the summer window. This is based on Araujo's attitude. He reconsidered the idea of leaving the team in January this year and chose to continue to play for Barcelona. Therefore, if his original intention of renewing the contract (that is, becoming an important member of the coach Flick's team) fails to be realized, the club is willing to make corresponding compromises. However, the implementation of this policy is not limited to Araujo's case.

In fact, the club has long believed that too much information should not be provided to the market, especially to clubs that compete with Barcelona. If other clubs or intermediaries need this data, they can ask directly. Even so, information about the amount of the termination clause may be leaked by the players, but this is beyond Barcelona's control. In any case, Barcelona will no longer actively disclose the specific amount of these clauses in the future.

This policy also applies to Pedri and Gavi, who are about to renew their contracts, and this decision has been finalized.
