Las Palmas vs Osasuna

Match preview

Las Palmas have endured a difficult start to the season, losing twice in La Liga and once in the Copa del Rey, conceding ten times in those three games, and they will enter the game on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Los Amarillos have a record of six wins, four draws and 10 defeats from their 20 league games this season, which leaves them in 14th place with 22 points, three points above the relegation zone.

Diego Martinez's side have the third-worst home record in the Spanish top flight this term, taking just 12 points from 10 games in front of their own fans, while Osasuna have just one away win from nine away games.

Las Palmas are also without a La Liga win over Osasuna since May 2017, but it was a close contest between the two sides earlier this season, with Friday's visitors running out 2-1 winners on home soil.

Pio Pio finished 16th in La Liga on their return to the top flight last season, and will be looking to make it three successive campaigns at this level of football for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign.

Osasuna, meanwhile, go into the game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano, in which Raul Garcia cancelled out Sergio Camello's opener as the points were shared at the Estadio El Sadar.

Los Rojillos beat Athletic Bilbao 3-2 in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey on 16 January and will now face Real Sociedad in early February for a place in the competition's semi-finals.

Vicente Moreno's side have won six, drawn eight and lost six of their 20 league games this term, picking up 26 points to sit 10th in the table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Osasuna, meanwhile, are just two points adrift of seventh-placed Real Sociedad and will be hoping for a top-half finish in La Liga this term.

Los Rojillos finished 11th in La Liga last season, so there is room for improvement in 2024-25, having finished seventh in 2022-23, but they have not finished in the top six since finishing fourth in 2005-06..

Team News

Las Palmas will be without the services of Benito Ramirez on Friday due to the red card he received in the 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish capital last time out.

Jose Campana, Daley Sinkgraven and Viti are also out through injury, while Marvin Park remains a doubt.

Coach Martinez is expected to resist the temptation to shuffle his pack after the Real Madrid clash, with Fabio Silva, who scored his sixth La Liga goal last time out at the Bernabeu, set to start again in midfield.

For Osasuna, Jose Arnaiz remains a doubt through illness, while Bryan Zaragoza is still out with a foot injury, but otherwise the visitors are in good shape to face Las Palmas.

Iker Munoz could come into the side after the draw with Rayo, but Raul Garcia is likely to start on the bench again despite scoring in the last game.

Ante Budimir has been in impressive form again in the 2024-25 season, scoring 10 times in La Liga, and the experienced striker will have another place in the final third of the field.
