Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez scored twice in the first half to lead the hosts to an emphatic 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday and boost their chances of finishing in the top eight.
The Mexico international opened the scoring with a deft 21st-minute strike before adding a second from the penalty spot nine minutes into first-half stoppage time.
Giménez, a rumoured transfer target for European clubs, stepped up and beat Neuer to double the lead in first-half stoppage time.
Substitute Ayase Ueda rounded off the scoring in the 89th minute after Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow had denied the Bavarians with a series of fine saves.
Feyenoord's Dutch goalkeeper Bijlow was unsurprisingly named man of the match. He made seven saves and five clearances throughout the game, denying the Bundesliga leaders' attackers on several occasions.
Feyenoord moved above Bayern, who had 32 shots on goal and also hit the woodwork, into 11th place on 13 points with a game in hand. Bayern's third defeat in seven matches dropped them to 15th on 12 points.
The top eight qualify for the Round of 16, while the next 16 teams go into a play-off. Feyenoord face Lille next week, while Bayern face Slovan Bratislava.
