Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich scored three times in 19 first-half minutes to crush Hoffenheim 5-0 on Wednesday and move four points clear at the top of the table.

The Bavarians did not take long to open their account as Leroy Sane opened the scoring in the seventh minute from Thomas Muller's assist.

Raphael Guerreiro doubled the lead five minutes later after a one-two with Harry Kane, and the league's top scorer rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot in the 26th minute with his 16th goal of the campaign.

The England captain has now converted all 12 spot-kicks he has taken in his Bundesliga career, the third-best record in the league.

Bayern picked up where they left off after the break, Sane scoring his second of the game three minutes after the restart before substitute Serge Gnabry added a fifth in the 66th minute.

Hoffenheim were nowhere to be seen for 70 minutes, failing to register a single shot on target before Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer pulled off a stunning save to deny Finn Becker.

Despite the cold and snowy conditions, the hosts kept up the pressure and had more than half a dozen clear chances to add to their tally.

Bayern next host VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday before travelling to Feyenoord in a week's time for the Champions League, while Hoffenheim, who have not won in their last six league games and have now lost three in a row, are 16th in the relegation play-off places.

The leaders have 42 points, four clear of champions Bayer Leverkusen, who beat Mainz 1-0 on Tuesday.
