Wednesday is the second North London Derby of the season, as Arsenal play host to their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Recalling the last time out,The Gunners went to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the start of the season, visiting their hated rivals on match week 4.

As with most North London Derbies, it was a physical, tense match with a few flashpoints and plenty of chances for both sides. Gabriel Magalhaes scored the vital goal. He powered home a header from a Bukayo Saka corner in the 64th minute, ending the match 1-0, and making it three wins on the bounce for the Gunners at Spurs' home.

Back to this week, Arsenal lost to Manchester United in a penalty shootout, even though they had one more player. This was Arsenal's second cup defeat recently.

But they're still doing well in the league and haven't lost in 10 games. Maybe people are just more critical of Arsenal's lack of a strong forward presence, which really showed in the cup competition.

After four rounds of not winning any league games (one draw and three losses), Tottenham Hotspur won two games in a row in the cup.

Ange Postecoglou's team were taken to extra time at the Lamb Ground on Sunday, but their superior quality eventually told in extra time as they advanced to the fourth round with a 3-0 success.

That 120-minute triumph came after a much more impressive 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final, but they remain entrenched in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Injury news

Arsenal have been hit by injuries in defence.Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori have all picked up injuries.Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are out for a while because of knee injuries.

As for Riccardo Calafiori,Arteta said: 'His thing is not much, but again, we need another day or two. We’ve been playing every three days, and 24 hours becomes really important because they are not long-term injuries. We will have more understanding this afternoon.'

Jorginho was cramping when he was playing extra time, and Jurrien Timber was exactly the same, but they're fine now.

Saka and Nwaneri will continue to miss this game due to thigh and muscular injuries. Gabriel Jesus was seriously injured in the last game against Manchester United. He's had extensive assessments, which have confirmed that he has an injury to his left knee ACL.The Brazilian has scored six goals in his last seven games, so his absence could be a huge blow to Arsenal's attack, given their lack of a strong number nine.

Postecoglou revealed in the pre-match press conference that Timo Werner won't be playing this week after hurting his hamstring in the win over Tamworth. Ben Davies and Edwin van der Ven also suffered hamstring injuries. The Welsh international will be out for at least a few weeks, while the Dutch central defender may have to stay in the infirmary for another two weeks.

Two goalkeepers may also miss the game.Guglielmo Vicario is "on schedule" in his rehabilitation from an ankle fracture and a comeback has been provisionally pencilled in late February.Fraser Forster is facing a race against time to recover from illness, but he has certainly now been bumped down the pecking order by new arrival Antonin Kinsky anyway.

Besides,Postecoglou has confirmed that Rodrigo Bentancur has only suffered a concussion and should be back after the obligatory two-week protocol. But Udogie and Cristian Romero are not expected to play again until the end of this month.

Young attacker Wilson Odobert has had a bit of a rough start at Spurs due to a couple of hamstring problems, and the former Burnley man is still getting over the operation he had to fix his most recent injury in November.
